Well done to Mairwen Kirk for her hard work during December, starting with a duet with Reuben Nicholas at the Port Einon Carol Service. Then, as a leading cast member of the annual Christmas Play performed by children of the south Gower villages, Mairwen helped to raise £100 for the Paul Donnelly Bone Cancer memorial appeal. Her lively rendition of Hey Big Spender won the vicar's approval. After Holy Eucharist on Christmas Eve, where Mairwen had again been invited to perform Pie Jesu with Reuben, Canon Joe thanked her for the duet, and expressed some disappointment that she hadn't provided an encore of Big Spender!
