Student Music Assistant

David Merriman is 18 years old and is a first year student at St Catherine's College Oxford, reading music. He attended Gorseinon College for his A levels and achieved his grade 8 singing (with distinction) with Penny Ryan, winning the ABRSM top grade 8 student prize. David also obtained his grade 8 theory (with merit) with Leslie Ryan.

David was an active member of the Llanelli Youth Theatre Company and Carmathen Youth Opera, and is passionate about music theatre. He was a répétiteur for the Oxford Gilbert and Sullivan Society's production of The Gondoliers, and is currently répétiteuring his college's production of Sandy Wilson's The Boy Friend. David is also a member of his college choir and orchestra. David is currently writing an orginal work for Ariosa. Watch this space! After Easter David is MD for a production of Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury.
